Swedesd is a research and development center for education and learning for sustainable development (ESD). Starting off in the global challenges as wicked problems, i.e. problems that are unique and hard to conceptualize, predict and solve, Swedesd is a research based learning environment that creates methods, tools and processes for transformative learning at Uppsala University, in Sweden and in the world. Among other things, Swedesd runs the ESD Learning Lab at Campus Gotland, workshops for teacher educators and university lecturers in Uppsala, and research and development projects on several continents.

Work tasks: The work will be carried out in the context of EU BOUNUS program; BOUNUS RETURN at Uppsala University, Campus Gotland, at the Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD). The aim of the project is to develop a serious game system (SGS) that draws on empirical insights generated by the participation of both researchers and stakeholders of the RETURN project, and is intended to create a, safe and inclusive learning space that invites deliberation over the feasibility of different eco-technologies. Furthermore, it will support a participatory evaluation of the systemic impact different eco-technologies have on the Baltic Sea Region (BSR).

Qualifications: The candidate should have a Bachelor in 3D-graphics for digital games or equivalent, with solid and versatile knowledge of creating and implementing 3D-graphics into digital games. We expect the applicant to have a demonstrated ability to conduct research and work creatively and independently within a given framework. The candidate must be able to work proficiently within the Unity Game engine and able to communicate in English, or Japanese. The position will require 3D-graphic production and implementation in the Unity game engine as well as limited production of 2D-graphics for print.
