Duties: Teaching, especially in health economics, research and administration. Teaching duties include course coordination, course administration and supervision of doctoral students. The administrative duties include working with the department's collaborations in health economics with other departments. Duties also include actively pursuing external research funding and following developments in the subject field as well as following relevant development in society that is of relevance for the research and education at the university.

The position includes own research equivalent to 50 percent of full time in the first three years. The research included in the position during the first three years will contribute to strengthening the connection between the department and the Health Economics Forum at Uppsala University (HEFUU; https://www.hefuu.uu.se/).

Qualification required: To be eligible for appointment as senior lecturer, the applicant must hold a Ph.D. or possess equivalent scholarly competence. Further, the applicant must have demonstrated teaching expertise and have completed teacher training of relevance to operations at the University, or have acquired the equivalent knowledge.

The ability to teach in both Swedish and English is a requirement. An applicant who is proficient in only one of these languages at the time of appointment is expected to be able to teach in the other language within two years.

Assessment: Equal importance will be given to teaching and research skills in the assessment of applicants. In assessing research expertise, ongoing research and research quality in health economics relevant to the HEFUU´s research areas, will be the prime consideration.

Pedagogic proficiency will be assessed as carefully as scientific proficiency. The pedagogic proficiency refers to coordination, implementation and teaching evaluation as well as supervision and examination. Pedagogical skills should be well documented so that the quality can be assessed.

Assessment, other skills: Administrative skills are important for this position and will be afforded great weight. The ability to interact with the surrounding society and to inform about research and development will also be taken into account. Administrative expertise is demonstrated through the capacity to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient and task-related manner as well as through the ability to assign and observe time frames. Expertise includes overall operational planning and the capacity to manage resources in a way that reflects operational priorities as well as the ability to work in a structured manner based on an awareness of goals and quality.

Personal circumstances that may be of relevance in merit evaluation, for example parental leave, should be mentioned in the list of qualifications (CV).

When the University appoints new teachers, the applicants selected are those who, following a qualitative total assessment of expertise and merits, are judged to have the best potential to carry out and develop the relevant duties and contribute to a positive development of the department.
