This announcement concerns a PhD position in information systems in collaboration with the Swedish Research School on Management and Information Technology (www.mit.uu.se). The successful applicant will pursue their PhD within the Digital Innovation Gotland Graduate Academy, a collaboration between Uppsala University and local industry and public administration at Gotland. The doctoral student placement is located at Uppsala University, Campus Gotland, in Visby.    

Tasks/project description

Generally, research in information systems is on the use and development of IT systems, where it deals with the interaction between developers, users, businesses and society. The purpose is to increase understanding of how IT can create values for different stakeholders. The research is both theoretical and practical. Different methods are used as traditional social science qualitative and quantitative methods (including interviews and surveys) as well as design and evaluation of IT systems. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in and good knowledge of data-driven innovation. Experience in conceptual modeling, digital platforms and the development of data-driven e-services and information infrastructures is a plus. Suitable background is a Master's degree in information systems, computer science, informatics or equivalent.

Holders of doctoral position must mainly devote themselves to their own postgraduate education. Other work at the department may be included within the scope of the employment of a maximum of 20% of full time. For employment as a PhD student, the holder is required or will be admitted to postgraduate education, where the degree of ability to apply for postgraduate education is crucial. Provisions for doctoral students are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (2006: 1053), Chapters 1 to 7, §§.
Local guidelines are set for payroll placement.
A person may be employed as a PhD student for a maximum of eight years, but no longer than equivalent to full-time postgraduate education for four years.
