Research assistant in molecular microbial ecology - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The limnology research program is currently looking for a research assistant in the field of molecular microbial ecology.

Duties:  The research assistant will work within several projects with the goal to experimentally investigate the causes and consequences of microbial diversity.  The research assistant will conduct analyses of bacterial communities using sequencing methods (16S rRNA)  The work also includes DNA and RNA extractions, PCR and QPCR of methanotrophs.

Qualifications required: A MSc degree in Biology or related disciplines. Practical experience from the use of the abovementioned methods on bacterial samples from water and knowledge about sequencing techniques. Excellent collaboration and documentation skills and laboratory accuracy are also required. Candidates must be fluent in spoken as well as written English.

Position: This is a part time (50%) temporary position for 8 months. The position may be extended. Individual salaries applied.
