Research assistant - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Organismal Biology teaches and explores the evolution, development and function on the organismal level. For more information see www.iob.uu.se.

Duties: You will be working on a variety of projects in the field of palaeontology and professional organization of the museum collection. You will work together with curator of the paleontological collection at Museum of Evolution (Uppsala University) and senior researcher from Department of Organismal Biology. You will be involved in the numbering, labeling of fossil specimens, photo documentation of the fossil material and preparation of e-dataset. 

Requirements: MSc degree in Biology or Geology. Experience in identification of Mesozoic plant fossils as well as knowledge about the types of fossilization. Be able to speak English in spoken and written terms. Large emphasis is put on the applicant’s personal abilities, such as being responsible and able to work independently.
