Project description: The position is a part of a project financed by the Swedish Research council to investigate the evolution of ectomycorrhizal fungi. The project involves many aspects of ectomycorrhizal fungal evolution and includes both genomic and phyloinformatic parts. The position as postdoc will focus on phyloinformatics, but there will also be opportunities to contribute to other aspects of the project.

Work assignments: You will compile data from many different sources to build a large dataset with sequences, morphology, geography, and ecology etc. for fungi. This includes searching databases and literature, but may also include lab work to generate new data. You will generate phylogenies and analyze other data in a phylogenetic context using models of evolution.

Requirements: To qualify for a position as postdoc you need a PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent foreign exam. People within at the most three years from their PhD exam will be considered primarily. If special reasons apply, the exam may be more than three years ago. Special reasons refer to time of due to illness, parental leave, comisions of trust within the union etc.

You should have experience in working with phylogenetic methods, and be used to work with sequence databases.

Additional qualifications: Experience of analysing character evolution in a phylogenetic perspective and knowledge in mycology are valued qualifications. Experience in working in molecular lab is also an advantage.
