Researcher in translational cardio vascular research - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Project: Studies of extracellular vesicles (EV) in plasma produced by platelets and platelet function in heart disease. The goal is to map how EV from platelets is generated by different stimuli, how protein and microRNA in EVs and platelets vary in heart disease and mechanisms involved in their interaction with endothelial cells, fibroblasts and cardiomyocytes. Samples from patients and cell lines are used in the studies.

Tasks in the project: Participate in and contribute to the development of this research field within the research group for Cardiology http://www.medsci.uu.se/forskning/kardiologi/ and the research group for Coagulation and inflammatory science http://www.medsci.uu.se/forskning/klinisk-kemi/koagulation/. Independently work with and development of the methods used in experimental research.

Prerequisites: Doctoral degree in medical sciences/equivalent. The PdD project should have included experimental, laboratory parts. Documented knowledge and independence in working with several of the methods involved in characterization of EVs and methods such as cell culture, protein analysis and flow cytometry.

Personal characteristics are important. The applicant should have communicative and collaborative skills and be able to work independently.

Starting date: As soon as possible, by agreement

Extent of employment: 100%.

Type of employment: Time-limited 2 years
