3 PhD positions in in industrial engineering & management with focus on:

-      innovation & innovation processes,

-      organization & management of projects

-      technology-based entrepreneurship

at the Division of Industrial Engineering&Management, Department of Engineering Sciences, Ångström Laboratory. Starting date is autumn 2018.

The division of Industrial Engineering & Management conducts research and education that approaches various aspects of industrial management & development. Innovation processes' dynamics, product development, innovation management, entrepreneurship, industrial management and organization, and business development are some of our main areas.

Applicants have the opportunity to propose their own doctoral projects in the form of a free-focused research plan, but we are looking forward to applications with a focus on eg. innovation & innovation processes, technology-based entrepreneurship, organization and management of projects, digital business development and conversion, as well as business & engineering ethics.

We would like to see a special focus on:

  • health & healthcare such as medical technology, drug development, and technology development and innovations in healthcare.
  • energybusiness such as electrification, renewable electricity generation and storage, transmission and use (eg" smart grids ")
  • digital technologies and services associated with such phenomena as AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, Block Chains, IoT
  • technology and business development close to the university environment, including innovation support and technology transfer and utilization of research results.
  • innovations and technology use for sustainability (eg social, ecological)

The PhD position is for four years, extendable to a maximum of five years including departmental duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching). Local guidelines for salary placement are used.

We believe you are genuinely interested in technology development and the interaction between technology and organization as well as between technology and people. We believe that you have, or soon will have, a master's degree in Industrial Economics, Business Administration or the like. You may have a technical or natural sciences degree but have studied management and organization. You may be a sociologist or anthropologist with a special taste for engineering.

Applications should include description of research interests and a preliminary research proposal and relevant experience, a CV, copies of diplomas and certificates, thesis (or a draft thereof) and other relevant documents.
