Four research assistants, Department of Peace & Conflict Research - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was founded in 1971 with the purpose of conducting research and offering education in the field of peace and conflict studies. The institution is today a young, dynamic and international workplace with about 70 employees and approximately 300-400 students from all over the world. Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) at Uppsala University is the world's premier provider of data on organized violence, and the program is a unique source for information about conflicts worldwide. The program has been available at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research since the 1980s.

UCDP is currently seeking four research assistants at 100%, for the period 180601-181231, or by agreement. One of the positions could preferably start on September 1, 2018.

Duties
The main work assignment will be to go through news articles and other sources and code violent events into UCDP’s online database. Other tasks may include writing texts for said database.

Qualifications
The applicant must have a master degree in Peace- and Conflict Research, be proficient in English, both verbally and in writing. 

Desirably / meritorious
Good knowledge of UCDP and it's definitions. Personal suitability will be taken into account.
