Host for Uppsala Health Summit 14-15 June 2018 - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Uppsala Health Summit is an international, annual arena for decision-makers, opinion builders and experts for dialogue on how we to implement knowledge from research and innovations for better health and healthcare. All delegates are personally invited, from different parts of the world.

The theme for 2018 is "Care for Cancer”. Uppsala Health Summit is a collaborative effort between Uppsala University and ten other public or non-profit partners. All aspects of the Uppsala Health Summit should be of a high international standard: This includes the invited speakers, the forms of dialogues, the service and the welcome given to delegates attending the summit.

Duties: As a host at Uppsala Health Summit, your duties may include working at the information desk, ensure that microphones are available and assisting at lectures and workshops, guiding delegates around the conference venue (Uppsala Castle), dealing with representatives from the media etc.

The exact nature of the duties that you will be assigned will be decided about one week before the summit. At that time, there will also be a briefing where we inform about the tasks involved. The preliminary date for this briefing is June 1th in the afternoon. We made this briefing compulsory as to help you carry out your work efficiently.

At that time, you will also be given information about working hours. The early shifts start at 07:30 and late shifts end at around 20:30.
All communication at the Uppsala Health Summit are carried out in English.

Requirements: Applicants must have a documented interest in social issues, especially global health issues, as well as some previous experience of working for events or conferences. A very good command of English is required. Additional language skills are a merit. Knowledge of Swedish is not a requirement.

Additional qualifications: We particularly welcome applications from students currently at Uppsala University or the Swedish University for Agricultural Sciences.
Please indicate in your application your availability during the period 13-15 June, if you can work for the whole summit or for selected parts. Try to be as specific as you can.

Pay: 130 SEK per hour
