The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The Department has approximately 120 employees.

Duties: Conduct research within the project "Random Structures and Algorithms". The general arena is probability theory, especially combinatorial probability, random graphs, percolation theory, random networks, sequential analysis and sorting algorithms under uncertainty.

Teaching and administration can also be included, no more than 20 percent.

Requirements: PhD exam in mathematics or closely related subject that the employer considers relevant. To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the applicant's PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application date; however, for example periods of sick leave or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Personal circumstances that may be of positive relevance in merit evaluation, for example parental leave, should be mentioned in the list of qualifications (CV).

Ranking criteria:  In ranking eligible candidates, special importance will be given to scientific skills. In filling these positions the university aims to recruit the persons who, in the combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented qualifications, are judged most suitable to carry out and develop the work-in-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the department.
