Post-Doctoral Position in Code Optimisation and Analysis using Machine Learning - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in research as well as teaching at all levels. The department has about 280 employees, including 120 senior faculty and 110 PhD students. More than 4000 students are enrolled annually. Subject area: The goal of the project is to develop more powerful techniques for code
optimization or code analysis, by applying machine learning techniques (e.g., deep learning) in new ways to extract features from program code. The project will use the result of learning in several possible ways, such as code optimisation that cannot be achieved by applying standard compile-time optimizations, or the automatic verification of correctness properties.
The post-doc has the opportunity to work across several research groups, among these are in particular the Uppsala Architecture Research Team (UART), the Algorithmic Program Verification group, the Embedded Systems group, and the Machine Learning group.

Duties: The position includes research and a limited amount (max 20%) of teaching.

Appointment period: The position will be held for two years and can start as soon as
possible.

Qualifications required: Candidates should have a Doctoral Degree (PhD or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong background in preferably several of the fields compiler construction, program analysis and verification, and machine learning. The Doctoral Degree must have been awarded at most three years before the application deadline (this time will be extended for medical leave, parental leave, etc.). High-quality publications in international peer-reviewed journals or conferences are expected.

The applicant should be highly motivated, able to work well in a diverse group, comfortable giving and receiving constructive criticism, and have strong abilities for critical thinking and structured work. These competencies are as important as the technical qualifications.
Excellent skills in spoken and written English are an absolute requirement.

Assessment Criteria/Ranking; The ranking of eligible applicants will be based primarily on research expertise. In filling this position the University aims to appoint the applicant who, following a qualitative holistic assessment of her/his competence and expertise is judged to have the best potential to carry out the relevant duties and to contribute to the advancement of research at the Division of Computer Systems.

In the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, parental leave, part-time work relating to care of children, union assignments, military service, or the like are to be regarded as work experience, and should be listed as merits in the application.
