The Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory conducts research and education in chemistry. The Department has over 300 active persons with about 200 employees in addition to guest researchers and students doing research at the master level. The annual turnover is just over 200 million SEK. For more information, visit Chemistry Ångström's website.
Description of the research group: The research on electrochemistry and electrochemical methods within the Inorganic Chemistry research program is focused on fundamental electrochemical problems and the development of electrochemical methods. The latter activities are very important in the development of new materials and we predominantly address problems within the electrodeposition and corrosion areas. For more information about the research group, see our website.
Duties: The work will mainly be focused on fundamental electrochemical problems related to electrodeposition and corrosion employing a wide range of electrochemical methods including voltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronopotentiometry, ac impedance, scanning electrochemical microscopy and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance. In the studies other techniques such as SEM, TEM, XPS and XRD will generally also be used.
Requirements: The applicant is expected to have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or equivalent. High proficiency in writing and communication in English is required.
For employment as postdoc, the applicant should have a PhD exam or an international equivalent within a maximum of three years before the final application date. During certain circumstances, an earlier PhD can be acceptable.
Desirable: Special emphasis will be put on research merits within the fields of fundamental electrochemistry and electrochemical methods, corrosion and/or electrodeposition.
The application should include a CV, a statement regarding the applicant’s visions and research interests, certificates of exams, degrees and grades, a copy of the PhD thesis, a list of published articles as well as other relevant materials, if available. Contact information regarding at least two reference persons should also be included.
